Week Four: Monday

All the elements such as performance, tech, art, make-up, and props help synthesize the two shows we have seen so far because they help explain the show more. Like the set helps explain where they are, the props help explain what they are doing, the make-up helps bring out the persons face and the performance helps explain everything! The elements are coming together great in ours. We are all now seeing our costumes and learning what we will be looking like on stage! I think that we all are doing well with the process of set and tech as well. Our set pieces look great and I don't think we have that much more to go. The tech is coming along too. Mr. Thor is doing a good job with it. Also we are now getting all of our props ready for our show. If one of the elements was missing I think it would throw off the whole play!

Week Four

I love my costume! I think that it really brings out my character in the play. I really haven't heard much about my make-up yet, but I am sure it will be cool. I think that this will help me with my performance because it will help me feel more like Mushu so I can act more like my character!

Week Four

Hehe this is a very long website url but it shows the importance of make-up in the show that I picked which was Beauty and the Beast. It was important because it played a big role in the 'beasts' character because he needed a lot of make-up to actually look like a beast!

!Peter Pan!

"I BELIEVE!!!!" Ha Ha! I thought Peter Pan was absolutely awesome! My favorite character was Michael because he was so little and such a good actor for his age! Most of the play was good! Like the set, the actors were great, and the liveliness! If I were the director I would have casted Tinkerbell as a real person and not just as a little light! I think it makes it more realistic! I loved all of the set and lighting! It was all wonderful. Yes there is a connection between my earlier posts and the production! Anyways it was awesome and I loved it!

Week Three: Tuesday

The area of technical theater that I chose was sound. The website I went to learn more about it is http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sound_design. This is because it shared lots of information like what place recognizes sound design which is The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences! It recognizes the Academy Award for Best Sound Editing! It was a great resource.

Week three:Monday

Personally I really want to learn more about tech and lighting! I also think the tech will play a really important role in Mulan because it adds a little pizazz to the scene. From what I have learned so far about technical theater I really love it and hope to be involved in it one day!

!STOMP!

I thought STOMP was AWESOME! It was so cool the way they all kept the same beat and drifted off one at a time and then went right back onto the same beat again. I liked the dynamics the best! I really didn't have a least favorite part of the show. The performers were great and it was awesome to meet them. I think I saw a little Greek theater in it although there were girls in it. Yes I learned a lot that would apply to Mulan. Like how not to be afraid of what you look like up there because, (no offense but in some parts they looked a little silly, but it showed that they didn't care what they looked like!) Anyway it was an awesome show and I thank Mrs. Tracy, Mrs. Laura, Mrs. Lindsay, Miss Kelly, Miss Anna and all of the chaperones for giving us the opportunity to go!

Week Two:Tuesday

http://www.greektheatre.gr/actors.html is where I found info on Greek theater. Well Greek and Kabuki theater are different because in Greek theater they always use masks and they don't in Kabuki. They're alike because apparently they both don't allow women to act in there plays. I think I learned more about Greek theater though. Also I think I would like Greek theater better because it seems to be more lively and understandable.

Week Two:Monday

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kabuki is where I found some cool information on Kabuki theater. Kabuki theater is different then I thought because I thought it would be something like our type of theater but from what I have read it really isn't much like it. I think I wouldn't have liked to attend it because women were banned from it.

Let's Learn More About this Theater Stuff: Wednesday

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Disney%27s_Mulan is where I found a good amount of information on Disney's Mulan. It gave me good pictures that helped explain it better too. It was a great resource. It showed me some good pictures I never saw before throughout the movie as well.

Let's Learn More About Theater Stuff:Tuesday

I found some information on Musical Theater at http://www.en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Musical_Theater. It was a good source of learning about musical theater for me. It made me think about how precise it is and how much detail it has. Yes it changed my thoughts about it because it tells me what I should be thinking about as I am acting.

Let's Learn More About This Theater Stuff: Monday

I'm Cassady and I think this course will be really fun. With the opportunity to meet new people and learn new things about acting. I think that it will be a good experience. Auditions made me very nervous because it was the first day and there was a lot of people that I didn't know. I like the technical assignment because it seems a lot easier then having to do anything else, you can simply get on the computer and blog. I have been on stage before because I was in High School Musical that a bunch of other people were in too. I think this will be a better experience because we have five weeks of fun with lots of new people!
